ISLAMABAD, December 17, 2021: Pakistan is hosting OIC Foreign Ministers’ conference on December 19, 2021 (Sunday) in Islamabad to bridge gap between Taliban and international community on Afghan humanitarian crisis.
All the arrangements to welcome the foreign delegates of OIC Foreign Minister’s extraordinary conference have been finalized.
The Constitution Avenue and all the prominent places in the twin cities along the route of foreign dignitaries have been decorated.
Special teams are receiving the OIC foreign ministers and other dignitaries. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the convenor of the OIC Conference.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi told reporters in the eastern city of Lahore that the “extraordinary session” of the 57-nation Organization of Islamic Cooperation is being arranged in Islamabad for December 19 at the request of its current chair, Saudi Arabia.
He said the United States, Russia, China, France and Britain along with the European Union, the World Bank and representatives of relevant United Nations relief agencies are also invited.
“The objective of arranging the conference is to draw the international attention to the humanitarian crisis that is neither in the interest of Afghanistan nor the world at large, and can only be averted through collective efforts,” Qureshi said.
