Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong called on Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi. Matters of mutual interest including regional security issues were discussed during the meeting. The two sides noted the exceptional mutual relations between both countries and pledged to further improve the same. The visiting dignitary acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s contributions for conflict prevention in the region.
In another meeting, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Nadeem Raza at Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi. Matters related to geostrategic environment and further strengthening of security and defense cooperation between the two countries were discussed during the meeting. Both sides reaffirmed the commitment that being ‘Iron Brothers’ and ‘All-Weather’ friends, Pakistan and China would continue to forge deeper strategic ties. China –Pakistan relationship extends beyond the Govt-to-Govt cooperation.
In another meeting, Minister Asad Umar met the ambassador, welcomed on his new assignments, and extended best wishes for his endeavors. The Minister and Ambassador discussed the CPEC projects in detail, especially those related to Industrial Cooperation. They expressed satisfaction on the JWGs meetings held in the recent weeks, for various sectors. They agreed to work together to make the second phase of CPEC a success. The Chinese Ambassador thanked the Minister and said that the Chinese side also highly values the relationship and it would be his endeavor to build on the work done in the last many years.
