FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP

THE CLUB WORLD CUP TOURNAMENT PLANNED FOR 2020 AND POSTPONED TO EARLY 2021

The FIFA club world cup is an international men’s association football competition organized by the Federation international football association (FIFA). The competition was founded 21 years ago and the current format of the tournament involves seven teams competing for the title at venues within the host nation over about two weeks.

Qatar is hosting this year’s tournament, and the country will also host the actual FIFA world cup next year. The matches are happening at the two venue’s of city Al-Rayyan, the same stadiums which will host the 2022 world cup matches and due to the covid-19 pandemic the attendance is only limited to 30% of the seating capacity 7 referees 12 assistant referees and 6 video assistant referees from total 6 confederations have been appointed. The FIFA Club World Cup champions are the Liverpool F.C while Real Madrid C.F holds the record for most victories, winning the competition four times since its inception. The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is the most successful confederation of the competition with twelve titles earned by seven of its clubs.

Like many other events, the FIFA Club World Cup was also postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Total seven teams were to compete in the tournament; however, OFC’s representatives in Auckland City withdrew due to the COVID-19 pandemic and related quarantine measures required by the New Zealand authorities. As a result, only six teams are competing, and the first round match was held on February 1, 2021, won by host Qatar’s representatives Al-Duhail, who advanced automatically to the second round on 4 February 2021. Liverpool is the defending champions, but will not defend their title as they were eliminated in the 2019–20 UEFA Champions League round of 16.

FIFA fever continues as the club world cup final is up and everybody’s eyes are on the cup. This is the first FIFA cup happening after the pandemic, and following the covid-19 precautions, there will be only 30% audience watching live in the stadium.

Overall the FIFA club world cup as always is one the best and we had some exciting matches to watch after the pandemic and now the final is up and people are excited, all the world is talking about this event and after it, people are putting their eyes on FIFA world cup 2022. Out of eight matches, until now six matches have been played and yet two matches are remaining out of those two matches one is the Final match of the FIFA club world cup and the second match is for the third place of the tournament.

On February 1, the match between Al-Duhail and Auckland city ended with 3-0, where Al-Duhail qualified for the second round.

On February 4, the second round between Al_Duhail and Al-Ahly was played where the latter one qualified for the semis with a 0-1 match result.

In the second match, UANL got the victory against Ulsan and qualified for semis with the match results as 2-1.

The first semifinal happened on 7 February in which UANL qualified for the big final by 1-0 and Gignac scored the only goal at the penalty at 54” and now UANL is setting their eyes on the Cup.

The second semifinal happened between Bayern Munich and Al-Ahly and Bayern Munich qualified for the final with 2-0, Lewandowski scored the only two tremendous goals at 17’’ and 86’’.

All eyes are on the final, as we will have a great match between Bayern Munich and UANL. Andre Pierre Gignac leads the rank board with three goals in the club world cup 2021 and Robert Lewandowski with 2 goals secures the second position.

The all-time favourite Bayern Munich is the overpowering favoured to cap a super final year as they head to Qatar for the, not on time FIFA Club World Cup, Now they are hoping to become the eighth consecutive European winner of the Club World Cup, a run that started when Bayern themselves lifted the trophy in Morocco in 2013.
